Emory GNPC Longitudinal Study with Plasma and Proteomic Data

The Emory Goizueta Global Neurodegeneration Proteomics Consortium (GNPC) Plasma and Proteomics dataset provides data from an observational longitudinal study of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia 

The dataset was produced by the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (GADRC), part of the Emory Goizueta Brain Health Institute as part of their participation in the GNPC Data Challenge. 

Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative (AD Data Initiative), the GNPC Data Challenge invited scientists to explore the GNPC Harmonized Dataset V1—the largest proteomics dataset available for neurodegenerative diseases. The AD Data Initiative hosted the challenge to accelerate breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s research through open science and data-driven collaboration. 

This dataset is one of several cohort contributions to the challenge, alongside Bio-Hermes-001, Answer ALS, University of Kansas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (KU ADRC) - Global Neurodegeneration Proteomics Consortium (GNPC), and Mayo Clinic Study of Aging (MCSA), that make up the broader GNPC Harmonized Dataset v1. 

What the Dataset Contains

The dataset contains:

  • 493 individuals, 762 total plasma samples 
  • 269 longitudinal samples, supporting within-subject change analysis over time 
  • Proteomic profiling via SomaScan v4.1 7k platform

The Emory Goizueta GNPC Plasma and Proteomics dataset is discoverable through the AD Discovery Portal and accessible within individually permissioned AD Workbench workspaces at no cost to qualified researchers. AD Workbench provides free compute, virtual machines, and multimodal analysis tools and allows researchers to bring their own code, models, and approved external datasets into their workspace.
