Create a Data Steward Token
Use these steps to generate a FAIR Data Steward Token, which FDSA uses to verify that you are authorized to register and manage datasets.
Prerequisites
- An account in AD Workbench / FAIR Data Services.
- The FDSA Data Steward role assigned to your FAIR account.
Steps
1. Register for AD Workbench / FAIR
- Go to [AD Workbench](https://fair.addi.ad-datainitiative.org) and create an account if you don’t already have one.
2. Request the FDSA Data Steward role
- In FAIR Data Services, request the FDSA Data Steward user role.
- If you need help or cannot request it directly, email fdsa.support@alzheimersdata.org.
3. Create a token in FAIR
- Sign in to your FAIR Data Services account (with the FDSA Data Steward role).
- Open your user menu and choose My API tokens.
- In the top menu, select New.
- Complete the form. For the Role field, select Request Approval.
- Click Create.
- Copy the generated token and paste it into the Data Steward Token field when adding your dataset in FDSA.
Security tip: Treat your FAIR Data Steward Token like a password. Do not share it publicly, and revoke or regenerate it if you believe it has been exposed.
