Data Request Timelines
Once a data access request (DAR) is submitted, it is forwarded to the relevant governance committee for review and decision. The governance committee for a given dataset is shared in the Discovery Portal catalog entry under Contacts.
Approval timelines vary by dataset and by the contributor who governs access. Auto-approved datasets are permissioned in 2-3 hours. Others range from a day to several weeks. Below are the ten most requested datasets of all time, with the average time to a data access decision for each. Every catalog entry in the Discovery Portal lists this under Access Details.
